Privacy Policy
The Echo (the "Service") is operated as a personal, non-commercial project. This policy describes what information the Service does and does not handle.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
The Service does not collect any of the following:
- Names, addresses, phone numbers
- Email addresses, user IDs, or other account information
- Payment information such as credit card details
- Location data or device-specific identifiers
The Service does not offer account registration. Users may use it entirely anonymously.
2. Information You Enter
Anything you type into the chat is processed temporarily so the AI can generate a response. A persistent notice on the chat screen reminds users not to enter personally identifiable information.
If personal information is entered inadvertently, the Service does not single it out or use it for any other purpose. If it somehow appears in stored data, the operator will promptly remove it.
3. About Saving Conversations
Conversations are saved only when you explicitly choose to save them. Saved conversations may be referenced when generating responses for future visitors.
Only the conversation text itself is saved. No speaker identifiers, session-specific IDs, or IP addresses are stored with it.
Saved conversation text is reviewed by the operator periodically (approximately every six months). Any inadvertently included personally identifiable information will be promptly removed.
Saved conversations are retained as long as the Service is operational. If the retention policy changes, this document will be updated accordingly.
4. Deletion Requests
To request deletion of a saved conversation, or for any other inquiry, please contact the operator. We will respond on a case-by-case basis to the extent reasonable.
Contact (X / formerly Twitter): @the_echo_2847
5. About AI Responses
Responses are generated by an AI (Anthropic Claude). They may contain inaccuracies, and the operator does not guarantee their correctness. Always check primary sources for important decisions.
6. Third-party Service (Anthropic API)
Text you enter is sent to Anthropic's API (United States) for response generation. Anthropic's API policy states that, in principle, input data is not used for model training; please check Anthropic's site for the most current policy.
7. Analytics
The Service uses minimal or no analytics. If any analytics tool is introduced, it will be configured with IP anonymization and Do Not Track respected.
8. International Use
Because the Service collects no personally identifiable information, it does not process "personal data" as defined by GDPR, CCPA, or similar regulations. Access from anywhere in the world is welcome.
9. Changes to this Policy
This policy may be updated as needed. Significant changes will be announced on this page.
